Teenage Nurses (1974)

Cast: Ashley Moore, Barbara Grumet, Jamie Gillis, Fred J. Lincoln, Jeffrey Hurst, Haya Landau, Janet Chambers, Laura Cannon, Levi Richards, Nancy Wang, Russ Carlson, Sandy Fox, Valerie Marron

The world's first Vaudeville/Musical/Porno Movie. Doug Collins and Avind Harum had made a hilarious but unsaleable film called, "An American in Bethesda". Viet Nam vets in the Bethesda VA Hospital are entertained by various Vaudeville performers; comedians, tap dancers, singers, Adagio Dancers with a 12 foot python, etc. During the show, the patients, including one amputee, have sex with the hospital's nurses. Doug couldn't sell this thing to anybody so Bill Markle and I bought it, added some more sex scenes, a laugh track, and sold it to Teddy and Tom, the Greeks who owned the Capri Theater as, "Teenage Nurses." Audiences were horrified, the Greeks were pissed, and Al Goldstein said the following about Teenage Nurses, "Pornography loses its innocence, and succumbs to moral rot in this puker." I thought I had died and gone to heaven. - Shaun Costello

The Satisfiers Of Alpha Blue

Release Year: 1980
Studio: Arrow Productions
Cast: Lysa Thatcher, Sharon Mitchell, Jody Maxwell, Annie Sprinkle, Hillary Summers, Tiffany Clark, Maria Tortuga, Monique, Holly Page, Lee Caroll
Genres: Feature, Classic
Video language: English

Director Gerard Damiano has got to be one of the best directors to ever make adult movies. Best known for Deep Throat and The Devil In Miss Jones, which were made at just the right time to become the world's most famous porn flicks, his later stuff, like this, are also pretty awesome.
Alpha Blue is a weird sci-fi porn set in a world where people live only for pleasure. In many XXX movies this would be way more than enough of a plot but here we get R. Bolla as a man who's not happy with his pleasure-filled existence and wants a little true love to go along with his fucking and sucking. What Damiano does here is hold a mirror up to the whole porn fantasy motif and raises some questions along the way. Like what would have happened if porn had become what mainstream society emulated, prostitution became legalized and getting laid was as easy as ordering a pizza? Is this supposed to be some kind of post-nuclear disaster world? What happened to all the kids? Is it a vacation resort world t.

House of Dreams (1990)

Cast: Zara Whites, Ashlyn Gere, Danielle Rodgers, Jeanna Fine, Ashley Lauren, Nikki Wilde, Raven, Sabre, Valerie Stone, Veronica Doll, Randy Spears, Randy West, Rocco Siffredi, Sebastian

An important movie. When porn was all but falling apart this signature gem directed by Andrew Blake redefined the possibilities of the genre. It had become obvious that the home video market wasn't going to support quality narrative films with explicit sex, so having scored a big success with the surreal NIGHT TRIPS, Blake went even further, junking plot and dialogue altogether, replacing them with euro-electronica music and spectacularly photographed and produced scenes involving lithe Rosellini-esque beauty Zara White's surreal sexual adventures in an ultramodern dream house.

Genres: Classic
Video language: English

In the early 80s there was the beginning of a sea-change for the adult movie business. The invention of the low cost video recorder, the single tube industrial camera, and the introduction of the home video recorder/player changed the way people watched porn - namely, in the privacy of their own bedrooms. This technical shift also allowed producers to make films at a cost so low that they were willing to take far more creative chances. As a result, Carter Stevens set off to produce a surreal porno film filled with strange characters, situations and plots while still keeping the hardcore sex that was the bread and butter of the market.

The Young Marrieds (1972)

Cast: Dick Burns, Alice Friedland, George Black, Cynthia Walker

Lost for over 40 years, Alpha Blue Archives presents notorious B-movie director Ed Wood's XXX erotic swan song, The Young Marrieds. The film is saturated with Wood's low-budget eccentricity and excess. The film triumphs as an explicit sex flick thanks to the frisky innocence of Alice Friedland in one of her few hardcore roles.

Eccentric pulp writer and director Ed Wood was famous for his low budget horror films like Planet 9 from Outer Space. He was rediscovered by many people when Tim Burton made a biopic of the director with Johnny Depp in the lead role. Towards the end of his career, Ed Wood made a few hardcore adult films that fell into obscurity until they were recently discovered and re-released.
