One of the themes in porn this year, scattered and minimal but available to see nonetheless, is a push toward cinematic approximation. Few films this year approach seeming like a real movie as much as director Rick Lawrence's superb A Dream Come True. I say this because it uses a more expensive filming process, its editing and camera shots are atypical of most porn and it is so plot heavy, the sex almost seems like filler at times. I say none of this negatively, for the video ends up as a total winner, a twinkfest that has more to do than merely spend time salivating over thin and untanned bodies. This is a full-fledged porn film, a super tour-de- for the director, not to mention its hard working stars. Court Logan, who will forever be distinguishable due to a Shirley Temple-like mass of actual curls on his head, not to mention a set off lashing dominating eyes and a nice body, is the hero of the story. He is a typical suburban klutzy teenager (from Kansas no less) who dreams of meeting his favorite guy band, the irrepressible J Guys (B.J., J.J. and Z.J.). Unfortunately, it seems as though he's lost a magazine contest that would send him to Los Angeles to meet them. Instead, he unfolds their latest layout and decides to use them as masturbatory material. Brad wittily remarks that they got where they did due to the casting couch. Brad lets them show their chests, but when Ryan shows pubic hair, Brad, in his point-winning Southern accent, tells them they can't be so risqu� and ends the shoot. As they change, Ryan seems very horny, but Ty isn't so sure (the no fucking sign right behind them is probably scaring him). But, Ty locks the door and off they go. He and Brad go shopping on Melrose and leave their limo driver, Tuck Johnson, to watch after the car. However, it's not long before he's telling Rocky, a passing skateboard dude, that it's the limo of Britney Spears, offering to let Rocky smell the seats. Rocky gets the video's best line when he sniffs the leather and announces Hey, this don't smell like pussy to me. Smells more like ... DICK! Rocky then aims to show Tuck how he knows the difference and has Tuck take the limo into a dank alley. But, I must say that the guys (Tony Ryan, Anthony Holloway and Drew Peters) do a great job of acting like the latest moppet blonde-highlit bunch of lucky numbskulls we have all seen on countless interviews with actual screaming girls behind them. Brad leaves Court alone with them and they give him a tour of the RV they ride around in, noting that they can't wank without rapping their knuckles on the roof. They stay at the infamous Argyle Hotel, chic and opulent inside, also with a roaring fire (I can't imagine this many people light fires in L.A. on a yearly basis, let alone in the course of 24 hours). The three guys go to change out of their concert clothing and then towel-clad Anthony and Drew suggest Court go find towel-clad Tony. The action moves very quickly and no one in it is a letdown, though I suspect Drew emerges the most talented orally, while Anthony is physically the most impressive. Things go wonderfully mad when there is a circle suck, with everyone chewing and blowing happily. The fucking starts with Anthony sweating up a storm instantly by fucking Court quickly and Brad finally finding a matching bottom in Drew. That bottom is particularly thrilled with the attention he's getting, though it's most fun to watch the hip swiveling action of Anthony. The production values alone of A Dream Come True make this a wonderful video. The music by Sharon Kane is fantastic, both underscoring and the actual songs (which are actually credited with vocal augmentation at the end, but then again, so are all the real guy bands). The film quality is superior and the multi-camera angles make each scene interesting. As I mentioned, the director truly tries for something unique in each scene, and you never get the feeling that yet another similar scene is starting, and Lawrence's writing is of the highest level, eliciting more than a few out-loud laughs. Twink lovers will be in heaven over gawky Court, who proves his star billing here, and the three guys playing the sexy band members are all well-chosen. However, the real star and real find of this video is Brad Benton, who is not only sexually skilled by a strong actor who finds himself the sexy centerpiece of this excellent video.
